The more things change, the more they stay the same. This lightly satirical look at the ongoing process of urban development captures the dance of heavy machinery at work on the Milan metro, as it switches between an old newsreel and modern footage. Rather than comically comparing how much technology has improved, viewers instead can marvel at how much remains the same, as the narration from the early 20th century is paired with today’s video.
Urbanists and anyone who never lost their childhood love of giant trucks will revel in the amazing footage of builders at work…work that never seems to come to an end.
