Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (born 1972) whom we have been representing since 2010 is continuing her spectacular ascent. Since she represented Japan at the 2015 Venice Biennale, she has had museum shows all over the world, including a travelling retrospective all around Asia (Mori Museum in Tokyo, Tapei Museum of Fine Arts, Long Museum in Shanghai…) which has received exceptional reviews and record attendance numbers. Her large installations range between 300 – 600 000 EUR and she has a very active and healthy market at auction for her smaller sculptures (range 60 000 – 200 000 EUR). (Spokesperson of Templon)
African American painter Kehinde Wiley (born 1977) whom we have been representing since 2009. Well known for being the portraitist of President Barack Obama, he has been a pioneer in the exploration of the issues of race, gender and identity. Some of his works currently featured in “Kehinde Wiley – An Archaeology of Silence” at Fondation Cini as part of the 59th Venice Biennale will be exhibited at Musée d’Orsay in Paris this fall. His work is in over 40 museum collections worldwide. He has created an artist residency in Senegal, Black Rock, to create bridges between the US and Africa. He will undoubtedly be one of the leading artists and cultural agitators of tomorrow. (Spokesperson of Templon)
American painter Jim Dine (born 1935) is the one of the last living legend of American pop art. His prices are still relatively reasonable in regards to his place in art history. He is in all the text books and in over 70 museum collections worldwide. He has been living and working in Paris for the last two decades and during Paris + we shall exhibit his latest series of paintings and sculptures made over the last 3 years. It will a spectacular event. A must see. (Spokesperson of Templon)
