REVIEW WRITER VOLUNTEERS WELCOMED!
PICTURE THIS style writing aims to empower time-strapped readers to quickly find the performances and other arts and cultural offerings that best match their interests. We strive to give VIVID accounts of the subject matter at hand, and to make that cultural offering the main focus of our reviews, as opposed to making our opinions the top theme.
CAUTIONARY NOTE: PICTURE THIS style writing is somewhat allergic to making a review about your analysis. That is antipodal to a traditional critic's approach and this style of writing may not be for you.

The Picture This Post Review Editorial Team is always updating and rewriting the Picture This Post Writers' Guidelines. To receive a copy of the latest iterations, please write to editor@picturethispost.com.
All Picture This Post writers begin with a trial balloon project that is geared to protect both you and editors from deadline pressures. Coaching will be available to help you discern the nuances of the writers' guidelines. Many writers have opted to repeat trial balloon reviews (i.e., with no deadline pressures) many times-- because IT'S FUN! YOU are actually the MAIN judge as to whether or not you have passed the trial balloon and can graduate to write reviews that require a 24-hour turnaround.
Fully vetted Picture This Post writers can request assignments in ANY category the magazine covers. The inside of the READERS' CALENDAR is an automated system where writers and editors can find review and preview opportunities and make requests for specific assignments.
As a review writer you will also---
-periodically upload news releases to the READERS' CALENDAR that have been sent to you as a way to highlight that particular review opportunity
-OPTIONAL: do layouts of your story so you can control how the words mesh with the images. IT'S FUN!
-write social media post language for your story/s
Once you have penned 3+ reviews you will be added to the Picture This Post masthead.
Will you like writing in PICTURE THIS style?
You ONLY write about performances or exhibits that you choose because you expect to like them. You are NEVER required to write about something you have not chosen for review.
Here's a suggestion--
Go through every section of the magazine (Theater, Music, Dance, Art, Museums, Film, Books, Travel) and read at least 3 reviews in each section. Look for stories by different authors. Tip: The word Review will always be in the title.
