Following two queer, Nuyorican cousins working at a laundromat, Bruise & Thorn explores latinè culture in Jamaica, New York. A spokesperson for Bruise & Thorn describes “when the laundromat's basement turns out to be an illegal cockfighting ring, the cousins can't tell if this is an opportunity to cash out and become their most fabulous selves—or a trap to keep them locked into what everyone expects them to be”.
Bruise & Thorn is written and produced by C. Julian Jiménez, and directed by Jesse Jou. The cast includes:
Jae W. Brown as Thorn
Fernando Contreras as Bruise
Zuleyma Guevara as Mrs. Gallo
Carson Fox Harvey as Lizard
Tony Taylor as Old Fart
