A spokesperson describes the event as follows:

"...Rumors is a hilarious farce by the American master of comedy, Neil Simon. Eight guests arrive at a dinner party to discover that their host has passed out after been shot through the earlobe.  The hostess is missing, the servants have fled, and everyone tries to save their reputations by keeping everyone else from discovering the truth, especially the police..."
