“...MALEVO, created by director, choreographer and dancer Matías Jaime, pushes the traditional Argentine folk dance Malambo beyond its limits, merging it with other dance styles, such as Flamenco, and urban percussion. Originally performed in competition, the dance form evolved to be executed in various ways and has no formal choreography. This loud and enthralling dance is closely tied with Argentinian resilience, confidence, and self-reliance making for a powerful and emotional performance..."
