“...Featuring an international company of dancers, London City Ballet will bring four U.S. premiere works to the Joyce stage from both emerging and established choreographers. Celebrating the ballet’s 30th anniversary, Ashley Page’s Larina Waltz is welcomed back to the stage, with five graceful couples that amplify Tchaikovsky’s carefree melodies in his Onegin waltz. The company also honors the meteoric rise of Liam Scarlett—who earned the distinction of the Royal Ballet’s first ever Artist in Residence—with a restaging of his emotive Consolations & Liebestraum, accompanied by a live music performance of Liszt's piano concerto performed by Luc Xu Cheng. Cuba-born, Olivier Award-winning choreographer Arielle Smith delivers the world premiere of Five Dances, while Artistic Director Marney closes out the program with his 2022 work Eve, an intimate look at the biblical tale of Eve and The Serpent from the title character’s perspective…"
