A spokesperson describes the event as follows:
“...Pehchaan" (Identity) is a dance production exploring the unique identities we experience as South Asians of the Diaspora. We dream of what a world that embraces us wholly could look like, while simultaneously articulating the realities of our lived experiences. How do we find a sense of belonging? How can identities that seem conflicting not only co-exist but harmonize? How can we find ways to celebrate our culture while critically engaging with the aspects of it that reinforce hierarchy, division, and hatred?..."
