The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center presents the 39th annual Tejano Conjunto Festival, the first and longest-running conjunto music festival in the U.S., showcasing live performances, dances, workshops, Hall of Fame inductions, and more.
This year’s festival includes: a livestream of Conjunto Blues, a stage play written and performed by Nicolás R Valdez; a workshop on Conjunto Music’s impact on Latino culture, campesino origins, among other topics; and a night of performances by numerous Conjunto bands.
Playwright/actor Nicholas Valdez says, “The focus of this work, for me, has always been to highlight the many contributions of the Mexican-American community to the cultural fabric of this country and to show audiences how Conjunto Music, an original and uniquely American form of musical expression, became the soundtrack for the 20th century Mexican-American working-class experience.”
The festival will be restreamed during Memorial Day weekend.
The festival band lineup for Saturday night will include:
LO MEJOR DE TEJAS
Flaco Jimenez
Los Cucuys de Rodney Rodriguez
Los 2 G’s

Los Monarcas de Peter y Mario Diaz
