Empty Bottle FREE MONDAYS!
On Monday November 26th, the Empty Bottle, a live music venue in Ukrainian Village, will host performances by Cafe Racer, Easy Habits, Girl K and Faux Furs. The Dumpster Tapes 5-Year Anniversary is part of Empty Bottle’s FREE Monday events.
Cafe Racer
Chicago band Cafe Racer will headline. They made their live debut at the Empty Bottle back in 2016. The psych/shoegaze rock n roll quintet are influenced by everything from Brian Jonestown Massacre to Jesus & Mary Chain. “They sound more groovy and noisy with textured melody than their past aggressive garage punk history,” Empty Bottle spokesperson said.
Easy Habits
Easy Habits are a lo-fi, local 3-piece band. Their full length, Greetings From…, that they released in January 2018, is, according to Empty Bottle, filled with Rolling Stones, Ramones and Jimi Hendrix inspired songs but their style is sustained by the band’s method of recording. Their more recently released song “Where Do We Go From Here” takes more of a 60s pop love song route; however, they still manage to maintain their contemporaneity.
Girl K
Girl K is a solo indie artist from Chicago. Just this year, she self-released her debut album, Sunflower Court. “Using a unique blend of somber yet inviting/warm undertones, the album creates an uplifting and delightful atmosphere that playfully balances the painfully honest heartbroken lyrics,” Empty Bottle spokesperson said. Girl K will perform with a full band.
Faux Furrs
Faux Furrs blends garage rock, neo-psychedelia, folk rock, and dream pop into their music. “Faux Furrs molds a unique sonic dimension, striving to exert purity while crafting lyrical landscapes,” Empty Bottle spokesperson said. Their sophomore album, Canopy, spans from garage melodies to blends of psychedelic atmospheres.
