Truth in Photography is an open-ended, online forum for active dialogue about photography, social change, and the shifting role of media, discussing issues surrounding truth in image-making. This interactive project features a diverse set of curators, photographers, critics, and historians, integrating vernacular photography, photojournalism, and fine art photography. Visitors can upload their own photos to the website as well, while also inviting them to share ideas, essays, photographs, or short videos. According to a spokesperson for the group, “the goal is to question the concept of ‘truth’ in photography by presenting a multitude of points of view.”

Truth in Photography launches new virtual exhibitions quarterly, with the Winter 2021 Edition featuring three curated exhibitions: Looking for Truth in a Digital Age, The Ethics of Truth, and Community and Cultural Identity. This first edition features sixteen photo essays, along with recorded Zoom conversations with Thomas Allen Harris, Fred Ritchin, and Pauline Vermare.
