A spokesperson describes the event as follows:
“...the songs in this concert won’t be selected by the orchestra. Instead, the songs will be selected by the fans themselves through an online contest.
In the contest, which was the brainchild of the CJO’s artistic director Jeff Lindberg, fans can donate $1 to place a vote for their favorite Sinatra song on the CJO’s website. The songs that get the most votes will be performed at the concert. Donations are tax-deductible. Votes are currently being accepted from now through July 31. Participants can cast as many votes as they like, and multiple votes per selection are allowed and strongly encouraged. Anyone whose votes total $1,000 or more will also receive two free tickets to the show. “In the typical Chicago tradition, vote early, often, and feel free to stuff the ballot box!” Lindberg says…"
