In Bukhara--in a physical state somewhere between preserved and forgotten-- one finds the former home of Faizulla Khodjaev, who had fought alongside the Bolsheviks and became the first leader of the new Uzbekistan republic during the early Soviet era .
Many of the home's artifacts-- from the kitchen, meeting rooms and even a telephone --help capture Uzbekistan in the early years after the Russian Revolution.
While touring, a Turkish TV station visited to record traditional Uzbek musicians performing in the Faizalla Khodjaev House Museum.
