As The Curtain Rises, Broadway’s First-Ever Audio Soap Opera, returns to the Broadway Podcast Network with more weekly episodes, described by the event promoters as “fabulously dishy and utterly delectable binge-worthy shenanigans.” Written and directed by Dori Berinstein (CEO Broadway Podcast Network, The Prom, Legally Blonde) and co-written by Mark Peikert (former Editor in Chief Playbill), As The Curtain Rises continues right after the first secret reading of the new musical, Avvatar: The Musical.
The most recent update in the As The Curtain Rises soap opera follows the reaction of the Broadway community after the news of the new musical AVVATAR is released – where everyone wants to be a part of the show. A spokesperson for the show explains that “arch-enemy mega Producers Steve Jones and Cheryl Phillips manage to score the rights…at least that’s what they think.” Composer Bobby Kern’s patience and marriage is tested in the process, while audiences are introduced to a possible connection between Director/Choreographer Zoey Taylor and Science Consultant Andrew Barth Feldman. Meanwhile, Diva Emma-Olivia might be overly jealous of her boyfriend Stavros’ new success – and agent Maxwell Fernsby wonders if his new pending position might not be all he hoped. As the spokesperson for this event concludes - the outcome of this tangled web is only known by The Narrator.
The cast includes many who's who of the theater world-- and the show's promotors summarize, "Edge of your seat stuff. You won’t want to miss this."
