AstonRep Theatre Company 2017-2018 SEASON Preview

AstonRep Theatre Company has announced its 2017-2018 season, which includes a stage adaptation of 1984, The Laramie Project, and a festival of one act plays by the playwright Tennessee Williams.

The season kicks off on September 14th with an adaptation of George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel, 1984. This haunting tale of totalitarianism was adapted for the stage by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall Jr. and William A. Miles.

In the winter, AstonRep will present of a series of one act plays by one of the 20th century’s most renowned playwrights, Tennessee Williams.

The season will conclude with The Laramie Project, premiering on June 7th. The play tackles the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man studying at the University of Wyoming.
