The Al Hirschfeld Foundation presents an online exhibition entitled Amplified Dignity, the most recent exhibition in the foundation’s Black Art Matters series.

The series includes renderings of 20th century artists Sammy Davis Jr., Josephine Baker, and the Nicholas Brothers, among others. drawn by artist Al Hirschfeld. According to the curator of the exhibition, Melanie George, “The exhibit contains a mix of well and lesser-known artists, and nameless groups of dancers, who have contributed to the history of dance in America.”
