A FIELD GUIDE TO BEING A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL Flying Film Festival Review – 12 Twelves Delight

A Field Guide to Being a 12 Year Old Girl is a delightful twenty minutes of twelve twelve-year-old girls impressing us as ambassadors for comprehending, honoring, celebrating, and thoroughly enjoying the complicated lives of twelve-year-old girls. Although each girl represents a varied series of thoughts and emotions with more questions than answers, the viewer listens to twelve chaotic notes transforming in to a single, impressive, joyful chorus. These treasures want to: “turn the whole world turquoise with hope” while wondering “what does love feel like?” We experience more joy than despair when a twelve year old innocently asks the eternal rhetorical question: “I thought I was just supposed to be me?”

If men want a short course on understanding women, this thoroughly entertaining study provides all one needs to know about how the elusive female experiences and interacts with the world around them. In the words of the wise preteens in their last whisper of childhood: “this film is about twelve-year-old girls, made by twelve-year-old girls and is for anyone who is a twelve-year-old girl, has been a twelve-year-old girl, will be a twelve-year-old girl or wishes to understand twelve-year-old girls”.

This writer would recommend aliens visiting earth to view the film in order to understand humankind of all ages!
