“...the first annual Uptown Rhythm Dance Festival, a multi-night performance and workshop program, presented in collaboration between uptown neighbors 92NY’s Harkness Dance Center and Works & Process at Guggenheim New York, El Barrio’s Artspace PS 109, and Museum of the City of New York. Through performances and workshops with established talent and rising stars, the festival illuminates the connections and individuality of rhythm-based dance forms including tap, hip hop and street dance, Kathak Indian dance, flamenco, Appalachian flatfooting, Irish step dance, live music and more. 92NY performances – curated by Harkness Dance Center Co-Executive Director Alison Manning and award-winning choreographer/performer Caleb Teicher – include several world premieres and feature talkbacks with Teicher following each performance..."
